Online Medical Consultation Session
Health is a prime factor in wellbeing and happiness. Many of us have health issues either known or unknown. Some of these issues can be prevented or tackled successfully once we are aware more of these issues. People often tend to ignore minor health issues and reluctant to visit and seek advices from doctors especially during the pandemic situation.
The Peradeniya Agros95 Alumni Association organized an online medical consultation session for our alumni and their families on 06th February 2021. Dr. Prabath Weerasiri, the consultant General Surgeon of the Thissamaharama Base Hospital carried out the session. Our friends and families has got the opportunities to ask questions from Dr. Weerasiri on their health issues and obtain guidance and deeper understanding on the remedial measures and medications. Such deeper discussions and obtaining information are generally not a possibility during personal consultations, but this session provided that valuable opportunity. The participant alumni and their families engaged actively in the session and appreciated the efforts to organize it which provided with some specific guidance and enhanced the general understanding on some common as well as uncommon health conditions among the participants.
Dr. Prabath Weerasiri reiterate the fact that this session’s objective is not to prescribe medication or treatments but to provide guidance and information for informed health decisions. We thank for the invaluable voluntary support given by Dr. Weerasiri by taking part in this important event.
